The performance took place in 2020 during the artist-in-residence programme in Kunstarkaden Kempten as part of my final solo exhibition there. It consists of 3 parts and lasted 30 minutes.
In the beginning I kiss the front door of the exhibition space and leave red lipstick marks on the glass door while the audience watches me from outside. While kissing the door I'm trying to make eye contact with the audience.
Afterwards I let people enter the space and I silently perform a belly dance. My breasts are tied with a bandage, I wear a self-made fencing mask with pearls.
In the third part of the performance I sit on a chair and with traditional chopsticks I tie up my tongue by clamping it between the sticks. I remain sitting for a while, my tongue turns blue and numb, the spit drips down on my shirt.
